Ella Melanson's journey in the world of sound began with a childhood passion that evolved into a dedicated career. Early on, she immersed herself in music lessons and later volunteered at her university radio station during her young adult years. Armed with a bachelor's degree in literature from Queen's University, Ella brings a unique perspective to her work as a re-recording mixer, drawing on her understanding of narrative and its transition from literature to film. Ella's educational pursuits continued at the Harris Institute, where she graduated from the Audio Production Program. She began her career as an intern at Urban Post Production and in 2019, she transitioned to Sim, where she has steadily climbed the ranks to become a re-recording mixer. As a mixer, Ella wants to explore sound as a foundational element of thematic and narrative structure, and its marriage of abstract and technical elements to the emotional impact it has in the moment.
