We are proud to share that Jane Tattersall, Managing Director of Picture Shop Toronto and award-winning sound editor, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC) Bill Hilson Award.
Presented annually, the award recognizes individuals whose outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on the art and craft of filmmaking. Jane joins an esteemed group of past recipients, including Paul Bronfman, Doug Dales and Graeme Ferguson.
Jane is one of Canada's most respected sound post-production professionals, with a career spanning more than three decades. She earned her first Genie Award for her groundbreaking sound work on David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch and has since collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers including Deepa Mehta, Clement Virgo, Sarah Polley, and Jaco Van Dormael. As the founder of Tattersall Sound & Picture, she helped build one of Canada's most respected post-production facilities before joining Picture Shop, where she now leads our Toronto studio while continuing to edit sound on select projects. Her recent credits include The Vampire Lestat (AMC+) and The Testaments (Hulu/Disney+).
She will be presented with the award at the 2026 CSC Awards Gala on October 25 in Toronto.
