Picture Shop Senior Colorist Tim Stipan has been accepted into the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) as an Associate Member. The ASC is a distinguished organization that brings together accomplished cinematographers and other industry professionals who have significantly contributed to the art of visual storytelling, and advances the art and science of cinematography.

Over the course of Stipan’s nearly 25-year career, he has collaborated with many of the industry’s most visionary cinematographers. Matthew Libatique, ASC, and Michael McDonough, ASC, graciously provided recommendations for Stipan, who most recently worked with Libatique on Post Card from Earth at the Las Vegas Sphere and The Whale and Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film Caught Stealing; and with McDonough on the Netflix film Lou and the award-winning Leave No Trace.

“I’m extremely honored to be joining the ASC as an Associate Member,” says Stipan who received a degree in Cinematography from Columbus College Chicago class of 1999. "The organization is comprised of incredible cinematographers, many of whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I’d also like to say thank you to Matty and Michael for supporting me.”

Stipan is based out of Los Angeles and has been nominated twice for the HPA award for Outstanding Color Grading.
